AuDIT: Audio Data Integrity Test
Current version: 0.1.51
AuDIT is a utility designed to test the accuracy of equipment and software used for the transmission, storage and reproduction of digital audio.
One of the great advantages that digital audio has over analog is that it can be losslessly duplicated and transmitted. It has been found however, that even decades after the advent of digital audio this is often not the case. AuDIT detects equipment and software that change the audio data that they handle. AuDIT is useful for detecting software bugs, media errors and equipment design flaws that may otherwise go unnoticed.
